Long Lost Tiger Spotted in Wisconsin

Wow you guys, getting things together for this reunion sure is bringing back memories. For example, I was on the DN Alumni site and spotted none other than Lori Zietlow! Talk about a blast from the past.

Anyway, unfortunately, she doesn't think they'll be able to make it, but I'm adding her email to the group list so you guys can drop her a line sometime.

That's one of the cool things about growing up in such a small, tight community. We remember all of our classmates, even those that moved away before graduation.

Okay, the next email I'm sending out is to try and make sure the emails I have are correct. I still have only heard back from a couple of folks. So, if you get the next email, hit me with a quick reply PLEASE!

Okay, still working on a place for dinner on Sat. I'll keep you posted!

Latest Update

Okay folks, here's where we are currently at.

We're going to invite as many of our teachers and coaches as we can find.

I still haven't gotten a lot of feedback on the dinner vs picnic idea, but those that did seem to prefer a dinner. So, how about a dinner Sat. night? Covered Wagon Days generally has the parks full anyway and there are food vendors there, so we could have an informal picnic either Sat or Sun as well.

It was suggested to see if we could use the "new" gym for something (our new gym, not the new new gym ;)), so I was thinking about having a catered dinner there. I'm still checking on that possibility and will let you know. If we do, I'll definitely need a good head count, but we'll worry about that as it gets a little closer.

A good suggestion was made about the teachers; have one or two students give a quick little talk about each teacher/coach, then give the teachers/coaches a chance to say something.

Finally, I need to know what activities are planned for the dinner night. I know Robin is working on a slide show, but is there anything else? Do we want to do awards again? Open the floor for embarrassing stories we can tell on each other? Other ideas? What about a booklet like we got at the 10 year reunion? Something with a short little something about what everyone has been up to the past 30 years, with contact info? Thoughts?

I'd like to ask a few folks to volunteer to sit on a committee to iron this out. If you're interested, let me know either here or send me an email.

Thanks everyone!

Another Lost Tiger Found!

Thanks to Detective Yohn, the formerly missing Lisa Franke has been located. Carry on. :)

Laureen also sent me this video clip. Many of you may have already seen it, but I'm a sucker for these things.

Who Remembers...

A couple of days ago I was out getting some firewood and darn near fell on my butt. You'd think I would know by now that cowboy boots are the worst thing to wear in the snow right?

Anyway, as I was flailing my arms and looking like Bambi on the frozen pond, I remembered something from once upon a time, in a Galaxy far far away...

Who remembers trying to slide down the hill between the middle school and the bus road during recess? We used to try and stay standing as we slid down that darn hill, but more often than not, wind up in a tangled heap at the bottom trying not to cry! Dang, some of the falls we took on that hill should have knocked some sense in us, but noooo! We just kept at it, cause after all, it was fun and cheaper than skiing!

And who remembers playing King of the Hill on the big snow pile below the bus road near the front of the Old Gym before our Jr High Classes?

Anyone else have any memories they want to share? If so, send it to me and I'll post it here.

Cheers all.

Randy

Layout Changes

Hola El Tigres!

Heh, sadly, that's about it for my Spanish. Anyway, I've added a couple of pages to the blog here. If you look above the yearbook picture, you'll see "Home" (which is the page you're looking at), "Where Oh Where Are They?" which is a page with the name of everyone I DON'T have any information on, and "Fun and Games" which will be a page for silly stuff.

Please at least check out the Where Oh Where Are They page and go through the list. If you have any info at all on anyone on the list, let me know. You should all have my email, but if not, leave a comment here and I'll get it to you. Or look at my profile, it should be there.

Thank you all who have responded to my emails. It's great catching up, and good to know your email addresses are good.

See you all soon! Oh yeah, I also added the countdown clock so we'll all know how much time we have to get back in shape! LOL

Update!

Hey all, just a quick update. Cynthia got in touch with Donna (Pacheco) Phillips so I now have her contact info. Donna suggested we put a notice on the DNHS Alumni page. (I didn't even know there was such a thing!) Anyway, I've done that, you can see it here. I'm also adding the link on the sidebar.

Hope to see you all there!

Update

Okay everyone, just a quick update. I fixed the comments now so anyone can leave a note.

Also, if you are on Facebook, Robin is asking for pictures of you and your families to put into a slide show. See her note on Classmates.

That's it for now. As always, any ideas, suggestions, offers of help :) are welcome!

Cheers all,

Randy
